Job summary

Training Portal is seeking a Tutor/Learning Facilitator for QCTO/SETA learner support on an SLA / Fixed-Term Contract basis. You will deliver learner support, monitor progress, and provide academic guidance for QCTO/SETA programmes.

Responsibilities include learner support, class planning, and administrative tasks, with experience in Moodle or an LMS considered advantageous. 3+ years of experience and relevant qualifications are required.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 and a relevant tertiary qualification.
• Computer literacy is essential.
• Prior experience with QCTO/SETA training and/or teaching & learning support services.
• Minimum 3 years of working experience.
• Previous assessor experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Provide learner support and guidance to ensure successful course completion.
• Plan and implement additional classes or interventions for learners who progress slowly.
• Create and manage WhatsApp groups for ongoing learner support.
• Apply knowledge of key learning areas to aid understanding and practical application.
• Demonstrate strong teaching skills, especially in adult education.
• Experience with Moodle or an LMS is advantageous.
• Assist in compiling and maintaining attendance registers and records.

Duties and Responsibilities

Learner Support

• Provide guidance and support to learners throughout their courses to ensure successful completion
• Plan and implement additional classes or interventions for learners who are progressing slowly
• Create and manage WhatsApp groups to offer ongoing learner support
• Apply knowledge of key learning areas to assist learners with understanding and practical application
• Demonstrate strong teaching skills, particularly in adult education
• Working knowledge of Moodle or an LMS will be advantageous

Learner Administration

• Assist in compiling and maintain attendance registers (manual and electronic filing on SharePoint)
• Assist in preparing weekly reports on learner progress, absenteeism, and any system-related issues
• Monitor and track learner performance
• Assist in planning class schedules and determining learning material and stationery requirements
• Ensure all learner information is accurate, up-to-date, and that any issues are reported promptly
