About the Role

Our client, a leading innovator in the telecommunications sector, is looking for a seasoned 5G Network Operations Manager to lead the operational excellence of their 5G network services in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. This critical role involves overseeing the day-to-day operations, performance monitoring, and incident management of our client's advanced 5G infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess a deep technical understanding of 5G technologies, robust operational management skills, and a strategic mindset to ensure the highest levels of service availability and quality. Key Responsibilities

• Manage and lead the 5G network operations team, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
• Oversee the monitoring of 5G network performance, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues and capacity constraints.
• Develop and implement operational procedures, policies, and best practices for 5G network management.
• Lead incident management processes, ensuring rapid resolution of network outages and service disruptions.
• Collaborate with engineering and planning teams to facilitate network upgrades, expansions, and new technology introductions.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, regulations, and service level agreements (SLAs).
• Manage vendor relationships and service level agreements for network operations support.
• Develop and manage the operational budget for the 5G network.
• Mentor and develop team members, fostering a high-performance culture within the operations department.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in telecommunications network operations, with at least 3 years in a management role focusing on mobile networks.
• Extensive knowledge of 5G NR, core network architecture (SA/NSA), and related technologies.
• Proven experience with network monitoring tools, performance analysis, and fault management systems.
• Strong understanding of ITIL frameworks and best practices for incident, problem, and change management.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience managing technical teams and driving performance.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in the telecoms industry in KwaZulu-Natal or a similar major metropolitan area is preferred.
• Relevant certifications in mobile networks or network management are advantageous.
