Beekman Group's Coral & Canopy in Umhlanga (KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa) is seeking a dedicated kitchen professional to prepare, cook, and present dishes for guests while maintaining top quality. You will develop new dishes, set daily specials, and help craft a fresh menu in a fast-paced environment; strong hygiene practices and the ability to handle guest feedback are essential for success.

Formación

• Two years’ experience in a similar kitchen role.
• Excellent communication and organization skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong knowledge of food handling and sanitation standards.
• Willing to work shifts including holidays and weekends.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare, cook, and present food to guests and customers.
• Develop new dishes, determine specials of the day, and put together a fresh menu.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
• Follow and create recipes while coordinating with the kitchen team.

Key Performance Areas:

• You will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting food to our guests and customers.
• You will need to be creative, develop new dishes, determine specials of the day, and put together a menu that feels fresh and exciting to our guests.

• Coordinating the work responsibilities of the kitchen
• Preparing foods
• Frying, grilling, and sautéing foods
• Keeping workstations clean and organized
• Following and creating recipes
• Maintaining excellent hygiene

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

• 2 years’ experience in a similar role
• Excellent communication and organization skills
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Dedicated to food quality and control
• Strong knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation standards
• Work shifts, on public holidays, weekends and during high seasonal periods.
