Job summary

Kiwa PPI is seeking an experienced Welding QA Inspector to support the restoration of an existing facility in Venezuela. The role ensures welding activities meet design requirements, codes, and project specs, acting as a key liaison between engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance.

The candidate should hold a Metallurgical Engineering degree with certifications such as AWS CWI, CSWIP, or ASNT Level II, and bring a minimum of 15 years in welding QA/inspection, with strong knowledge of

Qualifications

• Degree in Metallurgical Engineering (or related field).
• Proven certification such as AWS CWI, CSWIP, or ASNT Level II.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, WPS, PQR, and welder qualifications to ensure full compliance before welding begins.
• Verify base materials, joint preparation, and equipment setup prior to welding.
• Perform visual weld inspections to control size, quality, and conformance.
• Perform or coordinate NDT/NDE methods such as UT, RT, MT, and PT.
• Monitor welding activities to ensure strict adherence to approved procedures.
• Document inspection results, issue non-conformance reports (NCRs), and track corrective actions.
• Advise welders and supervisors on quality issues and corrective measures.
