Kiwa PPI is a global leader in testing, inspection, and certification. We seek an experienced Welding QA Inspector to ensure welding activities meet design and industry codes for a restoration project in Venezuela, with support in Colombia, Mexico, and Brazil.

You will verify material quality, perform inspections, and coordinate NDT/NDE methods as needed. Ideal candidates hold metallurgical engineering credentials, senior welding certifications, and extensive field experience, with strong

Qualifications

Degree in Metallurgical Engineering or related field.
Certification such as AWS CWI, CSWIP, or ASNT Level II is required.
Minimum of 15 years of relevant work experience in welding QA/inspection.
Strong knowledge of welding processes (SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, etc.).
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and codes (AWS D1.1, ASME IX, API).
High attention to detail, good communication, and sound technical judgment.
Technical English proficiency.

Responsibilities

Review drawings, WPS, PQR, and welder qualifications to ensure compliance before welding begins.
Verify base materials, joint preparation, and equipment setup prior to welding.
Perform visual weld inspections to control size, quality, and conformance.
Perform or coordinate NDT/NDE methods such as UT, RT, MT, and PT.
Monitor welding activities to ensure adherence to approved procedures.
Document inspection results, issue NCRs, and track corrective actions.
Advise welders and supervisors on quality issues and corrective measures.
