DHL Express Venezuela is seeking a Customs Manager to lead Customs and Gateway operations across the country. You will ensure regulatory compliance, drive service quality, and support profitability while guiding a high‑performing team.

Responsibilities include managing import/export workflows, regulatory permits, and continuous improvements. The role requires a strong knowledge of Venezuelan customs law and advanced English communication skills.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Customs Administration, International Trade, Fiscal Sciences, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Customs/International Trade or logistics with people leadership.
• Advanced English communication skills are required.
• Strong knowledge of local Venezuelan Customs Law and international trade practices.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and oversee Customs and Gateway operations in Venezuela, ensuring compliance with regulations, DHL policies, and global standards.
• Drive efficient handling of import/export activity and special regimes while maintaining service quality and profitability.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce risks and penalties, improving operational performance.
• Own KPIs and drive targets to meet or exceed expectations; balance customer service with productivity.
• Develop strategies that align customer expectations with cost and efficiency goals, and support business growth with the Commercial team.

As a Customs Manager, you will lead Customs and Gateway Operations across Venezuela, ensuring full compliance with customs regulations, operational excellence, service quality, and business profitability. You will drive continuous improvement initiatives, strengthen relationships with customs authorities and key stakeholders, and collaborate with commercial teams to support business growth while delivering world‑class customer service.

YOUR IMPACT

• Lead and oversee Customs and Gateway operations, ensuring compliance with local regulations, DHL policies, and global standards.
• Ensure the efficient handling of import, export, transit, and special customs regimes while maintaining operational excellence and service quality
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to minimize risks, avoid penalties, and enhance operational performance.
• Own key operational and service KPIs, ensuring targets are consistently achieved.
• Develop and implement strategies that balance customer service expectations with productivity and profitability objectives.
• Partner closely with Commercial teams to support the growth of DHL's Customs business and identify new business opportunities.
• Represent DHL before customs authorities, industry associations, and government entities, fostering strong external relationships.
• Manage permits, licenses, guarantees, and regulatory requirements necessary for Customs and Gateway operations.
• Lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing team, promoting engagement, accountability, and continuous learning.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, resource planning, and operational decision‑making to support sustainable growth.

What You Bring To The Role

• Bachelor's Degree in Customs Administration, International Trade, Fiscal Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Customs, International Trade, Logistics, or related operations, including people leadership responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of Venezuelan Customs Law, customs regulations, and international trade processes.
• Experience managing import/export operations and regulatory compliance in a complex operational environment.
• Advanced English communication skills.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving, and decision‑making capabilities. ]
• Ability to influence stakeholders and build effective relationships across internal and external networks.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and people development skills.
• Ability to perform effectively under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and operational systems.
