Samaritan's Purse in Venezuela is seeking a Finance Manager to lead financial operations for the base, ensuring accurate accounting, reporting, and donor compliance. The role emphasizes building capacity among national staff and coordinating audits.

The position requires Spanish proficiency, accounting education, and experience with grants and foreign currencies. It also involves mentoring staff and partnering with program managers to uphold financial controls within a humanitarian context.

Formación

• Spanish proficiency is required (reading and writing).
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field; 2–5 years international work experience acceptable.
• CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
• Financial management experience including grants management is preferred.
• Experience with foreign currencies and grants management is preferred.
• Management experience is preferred.
• Twelve credit hours of Biblical studies strongly preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain daily recording of cash, checks, and bank transactions; ensure cash flow and audit readiness.
• Prepare monthly financial reports to Country Director and Headquarters by deadlines.
• Oversee audits/reviews and ensure compliance with field accounting policies.
• Support program managers with financial policies and donor requirements; train local staff.
• Assist with project budgets and regular financial reviews.
• Review/approve financial transactions (FERs, vouchers, cash advances, transfers).
• Other duties as assigned.

We are seeking a Finance Manager to join our team in Venezuela. Through humanitarian work, the goal and purpose of Samaritan's Purse are to help people in Jesus' name and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

• Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ
• Train and develop the capacity of national staff in management of finances at the Venezuela base of operations. Mentor national staff in management of grant funded financial programs.
• Oversee internal and external audits and reviews as required to ensure compliance with Samaritan's Purse and donor requirements. Ensure financial/accounting activity is carried out in accordance with Samaritan's Purse's field accounting policies.
• Ensure daily functions for recording all cash, check and bank transfer transactions, cash and bank ledgers, cash advances and field expense reports, reconciliation of cash on hand and monthly bank reconciliation are carried out. Ensure adequate cash flow for operations and safety of financial resources at base.
• Provide required monthly financial reports by specified deadlines to the Country Director and Samaritan's Purse Headquarters.
• Assist with project budget preparations and regular review.
• Review and approve financial transactions for Samaritan's Purse field operations based in the region as appropriate (includes vouchers, FERs, Cash Advances, transfers, etc.).
• Provide support to Program Managers with regard to financial policies/practices and related areas as required. This includes training on compliance with local regulations and Samaritan's Purse policies.
• Other duties as assigned.

What are the qualifications?

• Spanish proficiency (reading and writing) required.
• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or a minimum of 2 to 5 years' related international work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Degree with an emphasis in accounting or related field of study preferred.
• CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
• Financial management experience preferred.
• Experience with foreign currencies and grants management preferred.
• Management experience preferred.
• Twelve credit hours of college-level Biblical studies strongly preferred.
