Job summary

BairesDev in Venezuela is seeking a Data Engineer to design and optimize data pipelines using a modern, cloud-native data stack. You will own end-to-end data solutions from design to production, enabling thousands of users to access high-quality data.

You will work with AWS Glue/Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, and Python for ETL, collaborating across teams in a 100% remote role with flexible hours and USD or local currency compensation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years total experience in Data Engineering.
• 3+ years with AWS Glue or Databricks.
• 3+ years with Spark.
• 2+ years of Delta Lake.
• 5+ years of Python for ETL and automation.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
• Nice-to-have: AWS experience, DataOps/DevOps, data cataloging and lineage, SQL performance optimization, event-driven architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable and secure data pipelines using AWS Glue or Databricks.
• Develop and optimize distributed processes in Apache Spark for large volumes of data.
• Manage and maintain Delta Lake tables, ensuring integrity, versioning, and schema evolution.
• Write and maintain clean, modular Python code for ETL and automation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into reliable data solutions.
