Job summary

Wildlife Conservation Society is seeking a Zoological Park Attendant at Prospect Park Zoo to ensure park cleanliness and safety. This full-time, union position supports Operations and Maintenance with custodial duties, pest-control participation, and routine grounds work.

The role requires outdoor work in all weather, weekend/evening availability, and a high school diploma (or equivalent). A valid driver’s license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Represent WCS professionally and interact with the public.
• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Ability to work in a team and maintain positive relationships.

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial duties throughout the park.
• Participate in pest control programs (with training).
• Ground maintenance such as raking leaves and spreading tanbark or gravel.
• Mail/supply runs to the Bronx Zoo with a valid driver’s license and training.
• Assist visitors with directions and information.
• Move Zoo equipment, supplies and refuse as needed.
• Maintain areas as required and assist with setup of tables and chairs.
• Enforce park rules and regulations.
• Perform related tasks and duties as required.
