The DC Office of Zoning seeks an Attorney Advisor to join a dynamic team at the intersection of law, public policy, planning, and community development in Washington, DC.

As Attorney Advisor, you will provide legal counsel to agency leadership, review statutes and regulations, and draft opinions, memoranda, and legislation.

You will represent the agency at hearings, assist with litigation with the Attorney General, and collaborate with District officials and external stakeholders.

Responsabilités

• Provide legal counsel and strategic guidance to agency leadership and staff
• Draft and review legislation, regulations, policies, and legal documents
• Evaluate existing statutes and recommend amendments or new regulatory frameworks
• Represent the agency during hearings and administrative proceedings
• Assist with litigation matters in coordination with the Office of the Attorney General
• Collaborate with District officials, boards, commissions, and external stakeholders
• Monitor changes in laws and regulations and recommend appropriate courses of action
