DC Government, located in the DC Office of Zoning (DCOZ) Legal division, seeks an Attorney Advisor to provide expert legal analysis and guidance on complex land use planning and zoning matters. The role supports the Zoning Commission and Board of Zoning Adjustment during hearings and proceedings, drafting pleadings and memoranda, and ensuring FOIA compliance.

Requirements include a J.D. or LLB from an ABA-accredited school, at least two years of post-J.D.

Qualifications

• Must possess a law degree (J.D. or LLB) from ABA-accredited school.
• At least two (2) years of post-J.D. professional legal experience.
• Active member in good standing of the District of Columbia Bar or ability to waive in within 360 days.

Responsabilités

• Provide expert legal advice and conduct thorough reviews of legal documents; draft letters, memoranda, and recommendations.
• Represent the agency in hearings and assist with litigation as needed.
• Draft comprehensive pleadings, legal memoranda, and administrative summaries.
• Assist with FOIA requests and ensure regulatory compliance.
