Job summary

6AM City, LLC seeks a Code Enforcement Specialist to conduct field investigations and enforce township codes, addressing nuisances and housing issues. You will issue citations, gather evidence, and maintain case files while coordinating with agencies to resolve violations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of enforcement principles and practices for laws and codes.
• Principles and methods of investigation.
• Safety, hazardous materials, and fire prevention requirements.
• Basic terminology in zoning, housing, and landlord/tenant law.
• Record-keeping, report writing, and court evidence documentation.
• Windows-based word processing.
• Discovering property ownership and zoning background.
• Office procedures, equipment and basic IT familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field investigations to uncover zoning, nuisance, junk, debris, and housing violations.
• Issue non-traffic citations for Township Code violations.
• Investigate possible violations, photograph evidence, and maintain case files.
• Present information and statistics in reports for officials or committees.
• Coordinate with public and private agencies on code enforcement matters.
• Respond to public inquiries and nuisance abatement questions with clear guidance.
• Interact with homeowners, landlords, tenants, businesses, and groups to improve neighborhoods.
• Attend magisterial court hearings when necessary.
• May perform other work as assigned.
