Zusammenfassung

City of Hampton seeks a Deputy Zoning Administrator to join the Community Development team. You will assist with daily zoning administration, determinations, appeals, and development reviews, while supporting the Board of Zoning Appeals and coordinating with the Zoning Administrator and City Attorney's Office.

The role requires a strong background in planning/zoning, knowledge of zoning laws, and the ability to read technical documents.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's Degree in Planning, Public or Governmental Administration or related field.
• Five+ years in municipal government with planning/zoning experience; at least three years in development review, ordinance amendments, and interpreting ordinances.
• AICP or VAZO Zoning Official preferred.
• Knowledge of zoning laws, ordinances, and legal procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, construction documents, site plans, deeds, easements, and environmental reports.
• Proficiency with computers and land use regulation systems.

Aufgaben

• Coordinate and manage daily zoning administration activities.
• Handle zoning determinations, appeals, and development reviews.
• Provide staff support for the Board of Zoning Appeals.
• Collaborate with Zoning Administrator, City Attorney’s Office, and other City departments to keep the zoning ordinance current.
• Work with Development Services Center and Planning & Zoning Administration divisions to ensure timely, accurate service delivery.
