Job summary

Prince of Peace Christian School in Carrollton, TX is seeking Zone Staff for the after-school program, 2:45pm–6:00pm, part-time. You will support daily activities, supervise students, help prepare snacks, and assist with setting up activities to foster a loving, Christ-centered environment.

Qualifications include active church membership, a high school diploma or equivalent, and enjoyment of working with children in a school setting.

  • Relate with courtesy, respect, acceptance, and patience to children, staff, and parents.
  • Ensure the safety of children through supervision.
  • Read and follow all policies and procedures in the Employee Handbook.
  • During probationary period of up to 90 days, demonstrate ability to perform the job competently.
  • Operating hours for Zone after-school care are normally 2:45pm to 6:00pm unless otherwise instructed.

Zone Staff, part-time, after-school 2:45pm - 6:00pm

Job Summary:

The Zone Staff is responsible for the day to day activities for the "Zone" afterschool program. The rolemay have varying responsibilities that may includeplanning and implementing program activities for the Zone child care program. The Zone Staff member is tohelp provide a loving, Christian environment for childrento fulfill the Mission Statement of Prince of Peace Christian School, "Providing a Christ-Centered Exemplary Education for Each Child", this Job Description, and any other duties as assigned by the Administration.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities

Key Responsibilities / Duties: (some or all may apply depending on position level)

  • Carry out all specific duties as assigned by the Zone Director.
  • Be flexible to changing duties and needs. Duties include but are not limited to:
    • assistance with all projects during zone time
    • supervision of students
    • preparation of snacks as needed
    • preparation foractivities (copying, gathering supplies, etc.)
  • Show competency, good judgment, and self-control when working with others.
  • Relate with courtesy, respect, acceptance, and patience to children, staff, and parents.
  • Ensure the safety of children through supervision.
  • Be regular in attendance and observe stated work hours.
  • Read and follow all policies and procedures as outlined in the Prince of Peace Christian School Employee Handbook and Operations Manual.
  • Refer parent(s’) questions concerning specific information about children to the Zone Director. DO NOT discuss other children with parents.
  • If your children attend Prince of Peace Christian School, talk to his/her teacher if there is a problem, rather than with other parents or staff members.
  • During probationary period of not more than 90 days, the employee must demonstrate the ability to perform the job competently.
  • Operating hours for Zone after-school careare normally 2:45pm to 6:00pm unless otherwise instructed.

Qualifications, Education, and Experience:

  • Active member of a Christian Church
  • 21 years of age
  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Enjoyworking with children
  • Previous work experience to show dependability, responsibility, and maturity
  • Ability to physically tend to students, by sitting, bending, walking with them
  • Experience working with young children in a school or similar educational setting
