Carnegie Mellon University’s department of Facilities Management and Campus Services is searching for a Zone Manager to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by providing support by overseeing daily operations and execution of facilities related tasks ranging all aspects of building operations including steam, plumbing, electrical, painting, HVAC, and small projects. The Zone Manager provides technical oversight for building infrastructure to include equipment installation, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and repair. The role manages a team of union personnel working 24X7, including Lead Operating Engineers and Journeymen Skilled Trades. This position will also be assigned as the Plumbing Trade Supervisor providing oversight of the in-house apprentice program, hiring for the plumbing trade, technical development of the trade, and verification of licenses and certifications.
