Job summary

Montserrat College of Art is seeking a Student Shadow in Zone 5. Pay is $15/hr for approximately 5 hours a week, with an expected duration of Spring 2027.

The Student Shadow will observe and learn the department’s operations and the duties of student employees, while a Student Manager provides guidance on professionalism and teamwork. Through hands-on tasks under supervision, you will develop familiarity with department processes, observe communication with students, faculty, and staff, and

Responsibilities

• Shadow another student employee for ~2 hours weekly.
• Observe and learn day-to-day department operations.
• Participate in appropriate department tasks under supervision.
• Learn how student employees contribute to department goals.
• Ask questions and engage about work, responsibilities and skills.
• Observe communication with students, faculty, staff, and other students.
• Learn dependability, punctuality, initiative, and accountability.
• Assist with projects or activities as assigned.
• Learn department equipment, tools, software, or procedures with supervision.
• Observe time management, prioritization, problem solving, and adaptability.
• Learn workplace expectations: communication, teamwork, professionalism, respect for spaces.
