Job summary

Pritchard Sports & Entertainment Group at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Zero Waste Sorter. You will collect, sort, and dispose of waste generated during events, ensuring arena remains a zero-waste venue and aligning with the vision.

Qualifications

• New hires will learn the process during training.
• The sorting team must open every item within every trash bag before separating waste items.
• Each shift completes a mandatory checklist before leaving.

BASIC FUNCTION

Pritchard Sports & Entertainment Groupis seeking to hire a Zero Waste Sorter. As the Zero-Waste Squad Sorter you are responsible for collecting, sorting, and disposing of waste generated in the State Farm Arena. The Arena is a zero-waste venue, and the Zero-Waste Squad Sorter is responsible for ensuring this. We need Sorters that are in alignment with the Arena’s zero-waste vision.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBJECTIVES

• Hand-sort waste
• Separate items into their various streams: (1) landfill, (2) compostable (food/drink, food packaging, cutlery, etc.), (3) bottles and cans, (4) cardboard, (5) mixed paper, (6) glass, and so on.
• New hires will learn the process during their training.
• The sorting team must open every item within every trash bag before separating waste items into the various streams. Fans tend to consolidate all their trash into a bag or a box.
• Each shift is responsible for completing a mandatory checklist before team members leave. The shift duration depends on sorting effectiveness/efficiency and event attendance.
