Job summary

Mariner Wealth Advisors seeks a hands-on Security Engineer to join our Security Engineering & Architecture team. You will implement, configure, and operate security controls across the network, infrastructure, cloud, applications, and integration services in alignment with zero trust and NIST CSF.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4–8 years of hands‑on experience in security engineering, systems/network engineering with a security focus, or a similar technical area.
• Experience implementing and operating security controls in hybrid cloud environments (AWS and/or Azure).
• Hands‑on experience with identity and access management (Okta, Entra ID, MFA).
• Proficiency in automation and scripting (PowerShell, Python, Terraform); CI/CD or policy‑as‑code toolchains.
• Working knowledge of NIST CSF, CIS Controls, and defense‑in‑depth.
• Proven vulnerability management and remediation experience.
• Strong collaboration across engineering, infrastructure, and GRC.

Responsibilities

• Implement Secure-Default Controls across network, hybrid cloud, and applications following standards.
• Drive Zero Trust adoption by validating identity and device state for access.
• Develop Controls as Code using PowerShell, Python, Terraform, and related tooling.
• Enhance observability and monitoring for assets, configurations, and access activity.
• Reduce exposure and remediate findings with compensating controls and rapid action.
• Manage findings at scale with fleet-wide tooling and standardized builds.
• Support risk quantification with asset criticality, data classification, and exposure mapping.
• Assist acquisition integration with repeatable onboarding and identity-based integration patterns.
