Job summary

Steampunk seeks a Cloud Security Engineer to deliver secure cloud architectures for migration, optimization, and deployment. You will focus on zero-trust components, IAM policies, data privacy, and risk-based security across multiple cloud environments.

You will collaborate with developers and DevSecOps engineers to implement secure processes, automate vulnerability management, and monitor for threats with cloud-native tools. An active security certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience in IT.
• 5+ years total experience in IT or security roles.
• 3+ years architecting and delivering cloud solutions.
• 3+ years experience with one or more clouds (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• 3+ years experience with infrastructure as code and orchestration.
• Active cloud or security certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify secure cloud-based solutions including zero-trust components.
• Balance security with usability for stakeholders.
• Monitor cloud environments for suspicious activity and investigate incidents.
• Review infrastructure as code for risk and compliance.
• Ensure security measures for data at rest and in transit.
• Automate vulnerability and patch management processes.
• Collaborate with developers and DevSecOps teams to follow secure practices.
• Support enterprise cloud security through automation and testing.
• Document current state and gaps with actionable recommendations.
• Provide mentorship to junior team members and contribute to continuous improvement.
