Job summary

Nakupuna Companies is seeking a hands-on Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and operate enterprise cloud environments with a Zero Trust focus. You will implement secure IaC, manage cloud networking, and drive automation across DoD-authorized setups.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in cloud infrastructure, strong security credentials, and experience with AWS or Azure Gov environments. The role is based in Arlington, VA or Honolulu, HI with on-site work preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of five years of IT experience, including at least four years in cloud infrastructure.
• Experience supporting DoD or Federal IT environments is preferred.
• Certification: DoD IAT Level II such as CompTIA Security+ is required.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain secure and scalable cloud infrastructure using IaC tools like Terraform, AWS CDK, or Bicep.
• Apply Zero Trust principles with IAM, network segmentation, and continuous monitoring.
• Manage cloud networking services including VPCs, gateways, endpoints, and hybrid connectivity.
• Build and operate containerized workloads with Kubernetes or Docker, including container security best practices.
• Develop automation scripts (Python or PowerShell) to improve efficiency and security.
• Incorporate security and compliance into CI/CD pipelines for DevSecOps deployments.
• Evaluate new cloud services to improve security posture and performance.
• Collaborate with architects to translate designs into implemented solutions.
