Job summary
Microchip Technology Inc is seeking a highly experienced Technical Staff Engineer to provide architectural leadership for Zephyr RTOS initiatives across its embedded product portfolio. This role serves as the principal technical authority for architecture, enablement strategy, ecosystem integration, and upstream engagement.
You will drive Zephyr adoption across product divisions, coordinate cross-functional efforts, mentor engineers, and represent Microchip in Zephyr Project and Linux Foundation
Qualifications
- Bachelor-level technical degree and 12+ years in embedded software development, architecture, or RTOS-based product work.
- Significant RTOS experience, preferably Zephyr RTOS.
- Experience leading complex software architecture and platform enablement initiatives across product lines.
- Active participation in open-source communities and upstream projects.
- Experience with MCU/MPU, connectivity, security embedded products.
Responsibilities
- Define technical roadmap for Zephyr enablement across Microchip product families.
- Establish architecture guidelines and best practices for Zephyr integration.
- Lead reviews and decisions affecting Zephyr ecosystem adoption.
- Drive alignment of Zephyr support across divisions and teams.
- Mentor engineers and coordinate cross-functional execution.
