Job summary

The Sabharwal Lab at Dell Pediatric Research Institute within The University of Texas at Austin conducts mitochondrial biology research using zebrafish. We seek a Research Engineering/Scientist Assistant I to perform molecular biology, genomics, and gene editing under PI supervision, contributing to publications and protocol development.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or a related scientific field.
Preferred: prior molecular biology lab experience.

Familiarity with zebrafish or another genetic model organism.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with research team members and present progress in lab meetings.
Record experimental data accurately and assist in data analysis.
Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment and manage inventory.
Perform molecular biology, gene editing, and genomics techniques related to mitochondrial biology.
Maintain zebrafish colonies and support genotyping and breeding operations.
Attend weekly lab meetings and assist in manuscript preparation and grant support.
