Job summary

The Classic Center is seeking a reliable Zamboni Driver to surface and maintain ice for hockey games, shows, and public sessions. You will operate the Zamboni, ensure a safety-first environment, and coordinate resurfacing with event teams.

The role requires attention to detail, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work in cold conditions while delivering top-notch guest experiences. Training and safety protocols are provided throughout the season.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience operating a Zamboni or similar machinery is required; ongoing training and development opportunities will be provided throughout the season.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Zamboni to resurface and maintain the rink between events.
• Ensure the ice is clean, smooth, and hazard-free.
• Follow all safety guidelines and keep skaters and staff safe throughout operations.
• Perform routine checks and basic maintenance on the Zamboni.
• Stay on schedule so events run smoothly and the ice is ready when needed.
• Communicate with rink management and event teams to coordinate resurfacing times.
• Keep the Zamboni and surrounding work areas clean and well-maintained.
• Maintain accurate records of resurfacing, fuel use, and maintenance.
• Support other rink operations including facility upkeep, equipment setup, and general maintenance task.

This isn’t just about driving a machine. It’s about helping create the magic that happens on the rink. Hockey games, figure skating shows, public sessions, and special events all depend on you to deliver smooth, safe, and professional-quality ice.

What You’ll Do

• Operate the Zamboni to resurface and maintain the rink between events
• Ensure the ice is clean, smooth, and hazard-free

This position will operate the Zamboni on both the indoor and outdoor rink as needed
