GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The ZMill Floor Operator is responsible for the floor level tasks on the mill. Standard Work instructions are to be understood and followed.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Coordinate and communicate with material movement and roll grinding to ensure necessary coils and mill roll needs for the production shift are met.
- Loading and unloading coils onto the machine.
- Change rolls and backing shafts as needed.
- Inspect the strip per work instructions.
- Data entry into P.C.'s.
- Maintain housekeeping standards.
SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Other duties as assigned.
- Participation in relevant continuous improvement programs.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum: High School Diploma or GED required.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Mobility in plant.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, etc.
- Frequent use of hands for technical tasks.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Occasionally push and/or pull up to 100 pounds.
- Visual ability with or without correction.
- Communication abilities.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
- Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations.
- Follow company safety rules.
- Report the absence or defect in any protective equipment or clothing to the Supervisor or Manager immediately.
- Use or wear required equipment, protective devices or clothing:
- Safety shoes.
- Safety glasses.
- Hearing protection.
- Hard Hat.
- Additional personal protective equipment may include:
- Respirators – requires a clean shaven face to comply with company policies and OSHA regulations.
- Fire-retardant clothing.
- Acid PPE.
- Report to the Safety Coordinator, Group Lead or Supervisor any contravention of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, regulations or company policy.
- Follow all Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) guidelines for designated machines.
- Follow all Environmental Policies and Regulations.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations.
- Clean, well-ventilated, and safe work areas.
