Job summary

Boys and Girls Club of Hartford Inc in Hartford, CT seeks a Social Work & Youth Wellbeing Manager to advance youth mental health and well-being across Club locations.

You will lead the DCF partnership, oversee case coordination and documentation, and ensure compliant service delivery while guiding grant-funded programs and trauma-informed practices.

The role requires a Master’s in Social Work, LMSW/LCSW preferred, and 3–5+ years working with youth and families in risk or trauma contexts.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work from CSWE-accredited program required.
• Connecticut LMSW or LCSW preferred.
• Minimum of three years of relevant professional experience; five+ preferred.
• Experience with DCF, child welfare, juvenile justice, behavioral health or similar systems preferred.
• Experience with case management, documentation, and confidential records.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed practices, youth development, social-emotional development, and behavioral health.
• Experience facilitating professional development or training adults preferred.
• Experience managing a grant-funded program or government contract preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as BGCH’s primary liaison to the Connecticut Department of Children and Families, building and maintaining a strong partnership.
• Coordinate services for youth referred to or participating in BGCH programs through DCF.
• Maintain timely, accurate, and confidential case notes, service documentation, progress information, and other required records.
• Develop and facilitate training for staff on trauma-informed practices, de-escalation, youth mental health, positive behavior support, crisis response, and related topics.
• Coach and consult with Club leaders to translate trauma-informed principles into everyday interactions and program practices.
• Provide subject-matter expertise related to mandated reporting, confidentiality, documentation, information sharing, and professional boundaries.
