Job summary

YMCA of Springfield is seeking a dedicated Bus Driver to provide safe transportation for program participants and to foster a positive atmosphere across all locations. The role requires strict adherence to CDL requirements, routine maintenance documentation, and proactive safety practices while engaging with children and families.

The driver will perform pre- and post-trip checks, keep accurate records, and participate in required trainings within 60 days.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year work experience as a bus driver.
• CDL license required and knowledge of commercial passenger vehicle rules.
• Ability to work with children and pass background checks.
• Willingness to complete required trainings within 60 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Drive bus safely per YMCA policies and laws.
• Record gas level, mileage, and maintenance; report issues.
• Perform before-and-after trip checks and document deviations.
• Clean the bus daily and restock first aid supplies.
• Maintain current CDL and safety certifications; operate with children.
