Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to certify within 60 days of employment)
• Clear OneSource Criminal Record, CRC, and CPS check. Negative TB test
• Must possess a valid Virginia or North Carolina CDL with Passenger or School Bus Endorsement
• Current Medical Examination Certificate
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with groups of children

Responsibilities

• Drive a YMCA bus ensuring safety of all passengers.
• Complete pre-employment trainings before first day (Onboarding, Child Abuse Prevention, Child Development, licensing, behavior management).
• Inspect and log safety checks and mileage daily.
• Adhere to traffic laws and road safety rules; take attendance during loading/unloading.
• Report repairs to supervisor; maintain cleanliness and security of bus.
• Maintain communication with supervisor and follow YMCA policy and code of conduct
• Attend required staff meetings and trainings to meet program requirements
