Job summary

Bannock County is seeking personnel to assist the Substance Abuse Education and Prevention Coordinator in facilitating the alcohol, tobacco, and drug education program for juvenile offenders and their families. Duties include coordinating with schools and various agencies, scheduling classes, and representing the program to the public.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with a bachelor’s degree preferred, and 1–2 years in related social services or probation monitoring.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1–2 years experience in probation monitoring or related behavioral services with at-risk youth and families.
• Equivalent combination of experience and training acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to the Substance Abuse Education and Prevention Coordinator.
• Facilitates the Families in Action program for Teens and Parents.
• Coordinates with schools, law enforcement, prosecutors, juvenile probation officers, diversion officers, and juvenile courts.
• Schedules substance abuse education classes and notifies affected parties.
• Represents the Department in facilitating groups and reporting completion information to affected parties.
• Represents the program to the public and community groups.
• Adheres to County policies, procedures and security practices.
• Performs other related duties as required.
