Job summary

Youth Era in Oregon seeks a Youth Street Outreach Specialist to deliver community-based peer support to youths ages 14–24 experiencing homelessness. You will engage unsheltered and unstably housed youth, build trusting relationships, and connect them with housing resources and basic needs.

The role blends outreach, documentation, and systems navigation, requiring strong boundaries, the ability to work independently in the field, and a commitment to equity for LGBTQIA2S+ youth.

Qualifications

• Ability to build authentic relationships with youth from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong boundaries and ethical peer practice.
• Ability to work independently in community settings.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred.
• Familiarity with HMIS or other data systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Community-based outreach and engagement with unsheltered and unstably housed youth.
• Conduct street outreach in areas where youth gather.
• Build trust through lived experience and authentic connection.
• Provide youth-determined, non-clinical peer support.
• Assist youth in navigating housing systems and accessing basic needs (food, shelter, housing resources).
• Enter complete HMIS data and documentation in Youth Era’s systems.
