Job summary

Seneca Family of Agencies in San Jose, CA, is seeking a Youth Stabilization Specialist to provide daily care, guidance, and emotional support within a multidisciplinary team. You will help create a safe, structured environment that promotes emotional, behavioral, and social growth for youth in our STRTP program.

The role requires trauma-informed care, crisis management, and strong teamwork. On-site full-time work with a start window of September/October 2026, with competitive pay and growth

Qualifications

  • Education/Experience requirements: Bachelor’s degree + 1 year, or Associate + 2 years, or High school diploma/GED + 3 years
  • Direct supervision and care of youth or families in social services
  • Be part of rotating emergency on-call system; at least 21 years old

Responsibilities

  • Provide continuous supervision, structure, and emotional support to youth in accordance with STRTP licensing and agency standards
  • Implement daily routines, behavioral support strategies, and activities per treatment plans
  • Utilize trauma-informed communication and de-escalation to help youth manage distress or conflict
  • Intervene in crisis situations following agency and CDSS policies to ensure safety
  • Participate in incident reviews, safety planning, and staff debriefings to improve care practices
  • Coordinate transportation arrangements for school, medical, activities, therapy, and court hearings
  • Participate in on-call rotation to provide crisis support
  • Complete all required documentation accurately and on time
  • Participate in weekly supervision with the program supervisor

As a Youth Stabilization Specialist, you will utilize your expertise to instill hope in youth by providing daily care, guidance, and emotional support in our program. Our multidisciplinary team aims to provide healing-centered and culturally responsive treatment for youth to uphold our value of respect as we actively support each youth’s stabilization and development. You’ll help create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment that promotes emotional, behavioral, and social growth. RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Provide continuous supervision, structure, and emotional support to youth in accordance with STRTP licensing and agency standards

  • Coordinate and assist with making transportation arrangements for school, medical, social activities, therapy appointments, and court hearings

  • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide crisis support

  • Participate in program staff meetings and additional meetings when necessary

  • Complete all required documentation accurately and on time, consistent with CDSS STRTP and agency requirements

  • Participate in weekly supervision with the program supervisor or designee


QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED



  • Education/Experience Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree + 1 year of experience OR

    • Associate degree or equivalent + 2 year of applicable experience OR

    • High school diploma/GED + 3 years of applicable experience

    • Applicable experience can include paid or unpaid work involving direct supervision and care of youth or families in the social services field, including group homes, behavioral health, or child welfare settings



  • Be part of a rotating emergency on-call system, scheduled ahead of time

  • At least 21 years old

  • TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements


PREFERRED


  • Experience providing care in a trauma-informed, culturally responsive environment strongly desired

  • Resolving crisis by utilizing effective crisis communication skills


SCHEDULE


  • Full-time

    • Swing Shift

      • Sun: 12pm - 12am, Mon-Wed: 3pm - 12am OR

      • Wed-Fri 3pm - 12am, Sat 12pm - 12am





  • Rotating on-call system, 1-2 times a month

    • Overnight shifts also available!!



  • This role is projected to start September/ October 2026
