Job summary

Seneca Family of Agencies is hiring a Youth Stabilization Specialist to support youth aged 0-17 at the Welcoming Center. You will supervise youth, participate in treatment planning, and coordinate transportation while employing crisis de-escalation and Equilibrium training.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree with experience or an associate degree with more experience, a valid driver’s license, and on-site work in California.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree + 1 year of experience OR Associate degree or equivalent + 2 years of applicable experience.
• Be part of a rotating emergency on-call system, scheduled ahead of time.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and insurability.
• TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision of youth and work with them towards maintaining a consistent, structured routine in a home environment.
• Participate in client treatment planning processes including program meetings, Child and family team (CFT) meetings, and Education-related services meetings.
• Implement interventions outlined in client treatment plan supporting social and emotional mental health goals.
• Complete client-related documentation including county health plan progress notes and incident reporting procedures.
• Provide client crisis intervention and de-escalation support.
• Coordinate and assist with making transportation arrangements for school, medical, social activities, therapy appointments, and court hearings.
• Provide crisis on-call support as needed.
• Participate in program staff meetings and additional meetings when necessary.
• Utilize crisis communication and de-escalation techniques per Seneca's Equilibrium model training (CPI may be required).

Youth Stabilization Specialist, you will work with youth ages 0 - 17 at the Welcoming Center ensuring the safety, stability, and growth of youth in care. You will be responsible for conducting regular check-ins to leading life skills groups, provide crisis interventions and de-escalation, participate in client treatment planning, and provide transportation coordination as needed.

The Welcoming Centeris a nurturing, home-like receiving facility dedicated to supporting children and youth in Santa Clara County who face the challenges of placement disruption. Our multi-disciplinary team offers safety, care, comfort, and therapeutic support around the clock, ensuring that young people receive the immediate attention they need, 24/7. We serve young individuals who have recently been removed from their homes, are returning after an elopement, or have experienced a sudden loss of placement. Upon arrival, children and youth are greeted by empathetic and well-trained therapists and counselors. These professionals create a calm and stable environment, carefully assessing each individual's unique needs while working to secure appropriate placement.

• Utilize crisis communication and de-escalation techniques as per Seneca's Equilibrium model training. This may include intervening with the clients' behavioral program through physical management of the clients, if applicable. Training in additional crisis intervention modalities such as CPI may be required.

Qualifications

Required

• Education/Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree + 1 year of experience OR
• Associate degree or equivalent + 2 year of applicable experience
• Applicable experience can include paid or unpaid experience working with youth or families or working in the social services field
• Be part of a rotating emergency on-call system, scheduled ahead of time
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and insurability through Seneca Family of Agencies’ insurance policy
• TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements

Preferred

• Bilingual Spanish skill set
• Experience working with youth and families with complex and enduring needs
• Ability to work as a team player, with diverse population and demonstrates cultural competency

Schedule

• Full-time, 100% on-site
  • Wed - Fri, 3PM - 12AM & Sat 12 PM -12 AM
  • Mon - Wed, 3PM - 12AM , & Sun 12PM - 12AM
• Rotating on-call system, 1-2 days per month
• Starting at $31.83 - $34.33 per hour, commensurate with experience
• Additional compensation provided upon passing bilingual language proficiency exam
