The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a Youth Sports Staff for Gordon Family YMCA in Sumner, WA. This part-time role involves instructing children in sports and activities, delivering engaging programming, and upholding YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

Hourly wage starts at $17.13, with up to 25 hours per week. Candidates should be at least 15 years old, have basic experience, and complete safety trainings.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 15 years of age or older.
  • Six months or more of related experience (preferred).
  • The ability to instruct participants in techniques.
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certifications (preferred).
  • Positive attitude.
  • Knowledge and skills in programming, activities, and sports.
  • Must be able to pass Background and Reference checks (WA State Fair Chance Act).
  • Committed to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
  • Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in-person training as required.

As a Youth Sports Staff, you will be responsible for instructing class participants in various sports, games, and activities while providing quality experience to children and parents that focuses on the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

Youth Sports Staff Job Description
Position Summary

The Youth Sports Staff will instruct class participants in various sports, games, and activities. Provides a quality experience to children and parents that focuses on the YMCA values: caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and assist participants in skill development, game play, and activities appropriate for each age
  • Encourage sportsmanship and teachable moments to implement our core
  • Assist in creating age appropriate lesson plans to ensure fun, high-energy
  • Work alongside volunteers to assist with
  • Follow guidelines for the implementation of the activity

  • Meet performance measurement by telling the Y story and raising charitable dollars to fulfill our
