Job summary

YMCA San Antonio is seeking a site lead to oversee multiple game and practice locations under the guidance of the Sports Director, ensuring safety and policy compliance. You will schedule events, verify equipment, and serve as a positive role model for youth participants across the San Antonio area.

You will enforce rules, resolve conflicts, coordinate parent/coach communications, and participate in trainings to support youth sports programs within a welcoming community.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age.
• Demonstrate diplomatic interpersonal skills.
• Ability to relate to children and parents.
• Follow YMCA policies and make decisions in a supportive manner.
• Ability to intervene in conflict resolution.
• Serve as a primary responder.
• A valid driver’s license is required and ability to drive to various locations within the greater San Antonio area.
• Certifications required within the first week: Redwoods Bloodborne Pathogens, Defensive Driving, and Hazardous Communications.
• Certifications required within the first 60 days: CPR, First Aid, AED, and Emergency Oxygen.

Responsibilities

• Manage game and practice times and referee games when needed.
• Ensure sites have needed equipment before games and practices; manage equipment before/after events.
• Know game rules and attend sport-specific training as required.
• Monitor and respond to horseplay and promote participant safety.
• Provide answers or seek others who can help; develop communication with parents, players, and coaches.
• Enforce YMCA rules and policies; maintain regular communication with the Sports Director.
• Keep current on all game and practice schedule changes; coordinate trainings and meetings.
• Respond to emergencies promptly; maintain facility cleanliness.
• Maintain a courteous, friendly attitude and be a positive role model.
• Attend trainings and meetings; perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
