Job summary

The Greater Austin YMCA is seeking a part-time Youth Sports Referee to officiate basketball, soccer, volleyball, and flag football on Saturdays, with training in the evenings. This role helps ensure a safe, fair, and fun experience for youth participants and families.

Ideal candidates are at least 16 years old with a year of officiating or sports exposure, CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days, and strong communication and teamwork skills. A positive, service-oriented attitude is essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum age 16 years old.
  • At least one year of officiating or sports experience.
  • CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days.
  • Official certification is a plus but not required.
  • Strong decision-making and ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Growth mindset and team-player attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills with players, coaches, families.

What You Bring to the Y
  • Minimum age of 16 years old.
  • At least one year of experience in officiating, playing sports, or a similar role, with a willingness to learn new sports.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (must be obtained within 30 days of employment).
  • Official certification is a plus but not required.
