Job summary

Carson City is seeking a part-time Recreation Aide for the Parks, Recreation and Open Space Department in Carson City, Nevada. The role is non-exempt and not to exceed 1,039 hours per fiscal year, supporting activities and programs.

Duties include preparing supplies, setting up and clean up, supervising participants, handling basic cash transactions, and maintaining a safe facility. Applicants must be 15+, obtain CPR and First Aid within one month, have a valid driver’s license if 16+, and

Qualifications

• Must be at least fifteen (15) years of age at hire date and able to obtain required certifications within one month.
• Certifications listed (CPR, First Aid) must be current and maintained.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license is required if 16 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Prepare supplies for activities and set up prior to events.
• Carry out activity plans and supervise participants.
• Monitor participant safety and use positive techniques.
• Maintain an organized work area and ensure facilities and equipment are neat.
• Perform basic cashiering duties and other duties as assigned.
• Work in a safe manner and follow all department policies.
