Job summary

YMCA of Central Stark County is seeking a Youth Basketball Instructor to lead activities, coach youth players, and promote teamwork and sportsmanship within a welcoming community program.

The role emphasizes safe, inclusive environments and opportunities to develop confidence and leadership while engaging families and participants in YMCA sports experiences.

Qualifications

• Some basketball playing and/or coaching experience preferred.
• Experience engaging and working with youth of varying ages
• Positive attitude with strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work evenings and weekends during volleyball seasons
• Dependable, energetic, and committed to creating a positive experience for participants and families

Responsibilities

• Assist with or coach youth basketball teams
• Help lead basketball training sessions and skill clinics
• Supervise or assist with open gym activities
• Operate scoreboards during games and events
• Encourage sportsmanship, teamwork, and skill development
• Support YMCA staff in creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all participants

Youth Basketball Instructor

Are you passionate about volleyball and making a positive impact on young athletes? The YMCA is looking for an energetic, dependable, and enthusiastic Youth Basketball Instructor to help create a fun, encouraging, and skill-building environment for youth participants of all ages and ability levels.

Position Summary

The Youth Basketball Instructor will assist with a variety of youth basketball programs and activities, helping participants develop skills while promoting sportsmanship and teamwork in a safe and supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Some basketball playing and/or coaching experience preferred (Just a basic knowledge of the sport needed!)
• Experience engaging and working with youth of varying ages
• Positive attitude with strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work evenings and weekends during volleyball seasons
