Job summary

The City of Napa's Youth Sports Programs are seeking Recreation Associates (Part-Time) to join our roster and help kids develop skills and confidence on the field. You will lead warm-ups, drills and games that emphasize fun, teamwork and learning to love the game.

Applicants should bring a love of sports, an upbeat attitude, reliability and good organizational skills. Availability of at least 12 hours per week, including weekends and evenings, is required.

Qualifications

• Some related work experience in recreation, sports, or classroom settings is desirable.
• Coaching or leading sports programs experience is helpful.
• Ability to work with the public of all ages and perform customer service duties.

Responsibilities

• Lead warm-ups, drills and games that build coordination, confidence and teamwork.
• Instruct others in recreational activities at Parks and Recreation centers and community sites.
• Assist professional staff in planning, organizing and conducting activities and events.
• Provide guidance to participants and ensure a safe, fun learning environment.
