Harlem Children’s Zone (HCZ) is launching a brand-new soccer program for scholars across elementary to high school. We seek a dedicated Soccer Coach who can lead training, build fundamentals, and foster a positive, inclusive team culture in Harlem.

The ideal candidate combines energy, leadership, and creativity to shape a grounded program from the ground up, addressing diverse ages and skill levels while aligning with HCZ’s mission to combat intergenerational poverty through education and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Coaching and/or playing experience with youth or high school level preferred.
• Knowledge of soccer rules, techniques, and youth strategies.
• Coaching certifications (e.g., USSF, UEFA, NSCAA) are a plus.
• Strong leadership, organization, and communication to interact with students, parents, and staff.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Training Sessions: Plan and deliver age-appropriate practices for K-12.
• Develop Personalized Training Plans: Tailor programs to individual needs and goals.
• Teach Techniques and Strategies: Instruct on skills, techniques, and game tactics.
• Monitor Progress: Assess performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Motivate Athletes: Inspire athletes to reach their full potential.
• Organize Competitions: Oversee games, tournaments, and practices.
• Ensure Safety: Maintain a safe training environment and equipment.
