Job summary

Coach Across America is seeking a half-time youth sports coach to support AmeriCorps service for 900 hours over one year in Southern California. The role focuses on football programs, clinics, and youth development in partnership with local nonprofits and schools.

You will help youth build confidence, decision-making, and teamwork while engaging families, coordinating schedules, and participating in required trainings.

Qualifications

• Passion for youth development and mentoring.
• Culturally competent with the ability to work with a diverse group of youth.
• Positive, can-do attitude, good work ethic and the ability to take on new challenges.
• Team player and reliable.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• AmeriCorps eligibility: U.S. citizens, nationals, or lawful permanent residents.
• High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Successful completion of background checks.
• Reliable personal transportation.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Support the sports programs, clinics, and play of youth soccer leagues.
• Maintain regular communications with parents and families.
• Assist in onboarding families into classes and activities.
• Complete bi-weekly timesheets and attend orientation and trainings.
• Wear program branded gear during sessions and events.
