New York Edge is seeking a part-time Soccer Specialist to lead after-school soccer instruction and age-appropriate activity programs for youth in New York City public schools. You will organize and supervise physical activity, ensure safety, and align with the program’s curriculum.

The role involves coaching, mentorship, and supporting academic hours. Strong soccer skills, teaching experience, reliability, and excellent communication are essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

  • Must be knowledgeable and skilled in Soccer and have experience teaching youth.
  • Prior experience teaching youth preferred.
  • Must be able to follow a curriculum.
  • Must be responsible, reliable, and punctual.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • May be required to walk up and down stairs.
  • May have to lift or move objects/materials as needed.
  • Work is performed mostly within a New York City Public School and events.

Responsibilities

  • Motivate students to be active daily.
  • Ensure age-appropriate daily activity plans with clear goals.
  • Coordinate with Program Director on calendars and events.
  • Encourage participation in Soccer activities.
  • Enforce safety rules and conduct during activities.
  • Instruct on techniques and safe use of equipment.
  • Set learning objectives for lessons and communicate them.
  • Evaluate activities for progress and outcomes.
  • Adapt methods to meet student needs and interests.
  • Support during Academic hours when required.
