New York Edge, Inc. is seeking a Soccer Specialist for the after-school day camp program in New York City. This seasonal, part-time role focuses on age-appropriate instruction, coaching, and mentorship to youth, with a strong emphasis on safety and engagement.

The Soccer Specialist will lead activity sessions, follow a provided curriculum, and coordinate with the Program Director on calendars and events, while ensuring inclusive participation and positive development.

Qualifications

• Knowledgeable in soccer and youth instruction.
• Experience teaching youth preferred.
• Able to follow a curriculum.
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• May be required to walk stairs.
• May lift or move objects as needed.
• Work mainly in NYC Public Schools.

Responsibilities

• Motivate students to be active daily.
• Follow age-appropriate lesson plans and goals.
• Coordinate with the Program Director on the calendar and events.
• Promote participation in soccer activities.
• Establish and enforce safety rules and supervise students.
• Instruct techniques and safety procedures and equipment use.
• Set learning objectives for lessons and projects.
• Evaluate activities and adjust as needed.
• Support Academic hours as needed.
• Adapt activities for safe participation.
