Job summary

Soccer Shots Kalamazoo is seeking a part-time Youth Soccer Instructor/Early Childhood Educator to work with children aged 2-8 across Kalamazoo and surrounding areas. You will lead engaging sessions at childcare centers, parks, and schools, focusing on fun, development, and safety.

The role requires punctuality, enthusiasm, and the ability to connect with young learners. A reliable vehicle and daily access to a computer are needed; soccer experience is a plus but not required.

Position

Soccer Shots (the official two to five-year-old program of US Youth Soccer) is looking to expand our team of dynamic early childhood instructors to accommodate our growth in the Kalamazoo, Portage and surrounding area. You will be a Youth Soccer Instructor/Early Childhood Educator working with children ages 2-8.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

• Responsible: Arrives on time to each session, can handle a group of 10 or more children, keeps accurate attendance, communicates well with Soccer Shots director of coaching, etc.
• Professional: Neat in appearance, friendly and courteous with daycare center staff and director as well as parents, self-assured.
• Enthusiastic: Must enjoy interacting with young children (2–8 years old), and be able to connect with them on their level, making the Soccer Shots class the best part of their week. You must be very outgoing and animated; able to be silly with the children. Experience with children is required.
• Soccer: Soccer experience is a plus but is not necessary.
• Transportation: Must have own reliable transportation and valid license and car insurance.
• Equipment: Must own and have daily access to a computer, printer, and internet.

Schedule

We currently have sessions Monday through Thursday mornings and afternoons, as well as Saturday mornings. Sessions run year-round and take place at childcare centers, recreation centers, parks, and elementary schools. Session start times vary depending upon location and season but typically fall within the following timeframes and repeat each week: morning (8:30 am – 12:00 pm) or afternoon (3:30 pm – 6:45 pm). We are looking for candidates who are able to commit to a complete season.
