Overview of the role
Oversee daily shelter operations, ensuring safety, structure and consistency. Ensure shelter programming, schedules, routines, meals, medication procedures, transportation, and youth supervision are completed appropriately. With Program Leadership, develop and organize structured programming materials, psychoeducational resources, develop and coordinate activity calendars, recreational programming, life skills development, seasonal programming, community engagement opportunities, and more. Serve as primary trainer for new front-line and supervisory staff. Serve as primary trainer for shadow shifts and ensure staff competencies are met during the onboarding period. Ensure a trauma-informed environment for youth and staff through modeling of appropriate responses and direct training/supervision of staff. Develop and foster growth in supervises through coaching and accountability. Participate in on-call rotation (approximately 1 week every 7 weeks, with additional days as needed). Emergency shift coverage as needed. Assist during crises situations and provide support as needed.

What you need
- Bachelor’s degree in human services.
- And two (2) or more years relevant experience.
- High comfort with computers with ability to type quickly and multi-task.
- Excellent writing and grammar skills.
- Valid driver’s license and be insurable by the agency auto insurance policy.
- Pass all background checks completed by Foundation 2 Crisis Services.
- Submit copy of college degree or transcript as required by licensure for personnel file.
- Live in Iowa.
- Live within 50 miles of Cedar Rapids, IA.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Successfully complete required trainings within required time periods.
- Complete a physical exam prior to the beginning of employment and every three (3) years thereafter.
- Be free of communicable diseases as determined by a physician.
- Experience working with and compassion for at-risk youth preferred.
- Education or training in trauma-informed care preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred. Plus 3 years of human service experience.
- Background in motivational interviewing preferred.
- Knowledge/experience working in the mental health, substance use, and/or problem gambling field preferred.
