Bernalillo County is hiring a Youth Program Officer I for the Youth Services Center. The role involves maintaining security, processing new residents, and supervising activities to ensure safety and compliance at the Youth Services Center.

The position requires a High School Diploma with related experience in security or youth services, and includes a sign-on incentive for external hires. Close date is December 3, 2026.

Formación

• High School Diploma and two years post high school related experience working with youth or in a security field.
• Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered for the above requirements.
• Must complete required safety and training as assigned.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain security, order and discipline for residents and staff to prevent disturbances.
• Process new residents, including strip searching and orientation to the Youth Services Center rules.
• Maintain written logs of incidents and observe residents’ locations and activities.
• Evaluate and implement programs for education in daily living, social, and work/study habits.
• Counsel residents in group and individual sessions.
• Provide oral and written reports on residents to supervisors.
