Bernalillo County is seeking a Youth Program Officer II to supervise residents at the Youth Services Center in Albuquerque. The role involves maintaining security, coordinating staff, and guiding residents in daily living and work habits.

A minimum of an Associate’s Degree in a related field and one year of related experience is required. The county offers health benefits, leave accruals, career development, and flexible work options.

• Associate's Degree in Law Enforcement, Criminology, Psychology or related field in addition to one (1) year related experience in a lockdown, secure or correctional facility.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain security, order and discipline to prevent disturbances and ensure safety of residents, staff and community.
• Serve as lead-worker to ensure shifts are staffed and units secure, including searches and inspections.
• Conduct and participate in in-service training and staff development programs.
• Assist in training, assigning, and leading subordinate staff.
• Educate residents in daily living, social, and work/study skills; monitor progress.
• Counsel residents in-group and individual sessions; prepare reports for the Program Manager.
• Review youth files and ensure accurate documentation; provide oral and written reports.
