Job summary

New Avenues for Youth in Portland seeks a compassionate Day Services Coordinator to join our Drop-In team. You will engage with youth experiencing houselessness, connect them to housing, case management, and recovery supports, and help create a warm, safe space.

The ideal candidate builds authentic relationships, collaborates with partners, and uses trauma-informed care. This full-time role offers a strong benefits package, ongoing training, and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of the lifestyles and culture of youth experiencing houselessness preferred.
• Relatable lived experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Engage youth at many stages of change to facilitate access to resources and build community connections.
• Collaborate with New Avenues teams and partners in the Homeless Youth Continuum and the community.
• Apply harm reduction practices to maintain a safe, welcoming, low-barrier Drop-In space.
• Be youth-centered, grounded in Positive Youth Development and trauma-informed care.
