Job summary

The Verona Public Library is seeking a dynamic Youth Services Librarian for a part-time 50% position (about 18 hours per week). The role includes reference and reader’s advisory for children, teens, and adults, at the public service desk, and assisting with programs for birth to 18 years and their families.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with families, is tech-savvy, proficient in Spanish, and can thrive in a busy library. Schedule spans daytime, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of study at an accredited college, university, or technical school or related experience is required.
• Experience working with children and/or teens is required.
• Customer service experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide patron assistance at the Youth Services desk and throughout the library.
• Plan, publicize, and carry out youth programming and outreach.
• Assist with collection development and weeding as needed.
• Support library technology implementation and patron computer use.
• Promote library services through publicity and outreach to schools and community groups.
