Job summary

The Oconee County Public Library seeks a Youth Services Librarian to plan and present diverse and innovative programs for the library’s youngest customers and caregivers. This role blends library management, customer service, programming, outreach, and collection development.

The Youth Services Librarian will work collaboratively with staff, school personnel, and community organizations to support the library’s mission of fostering a love of reading and learning while meeting the diverse needs

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Library Science or Education, and three (3) years of related work experience.
• Education may be substituted for experience, but experience may not be substituted for education.

Responsibilities

• Plan and present diverse and innovative programs for the library’s youngest customers and their caregivers.
• Provide reference and reader’s advisory services; and select and maintain collection materials.
• Collaborate with library staff, school personnel, and community organizations to support the library’s mission of fostering a love of reading and learning while meeting the diverse needs of youth patrons.
