Job summary

The Algonquin Area Public Library District is seeking a Youth Services librarian to join our dynamic team. You will develop children's collections and lead engaging storytimes for a diverse community, from birth through 8th grade, while providing reader’s advisory and technology assistance.

Requirements include a Master’s in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program and strong customer service skills. Scheduling includes daytime, evening, and weekend shifts in a public library setting.

Qualifications

• ALA-Accredited MLS required.
• Experience with children's services.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage children’s collections to meet community needs.
