The Juneau Public Libraries are seeking a Youth Services Librarian to coordinate youth services and partner with schools and community groups in Juneau, Alaska. The role emphasizes programming for children and families and strong patron engagement.
The ideal candidate will have MLS/MLIS and strong organizational and communication skills, with a commitment to excellent customer service and attendance. This is a full-time, on-site position with multiple library locations.

The Juneau Public Libraries have three locations: the Downtown Juneau Public Library (located atop the Marine Parking Garage on the waterfront), the Mendenhall Valley Public Library (located in Dimond Park), and the Douglas Public Library (located in the Douglas Community Building, a shared facility with the Fire Department). Library staff offices are located at the Downtown Library. The libraries are open 7 days a week, excluding CBJ holidays.
This position works Monday - Friday with weekly evening and occasional weekend shifts. Staffs evening and weekend programs and events.
The Youth Services Librarian coordinates youth services throughout the Juneau Public Library system, with local schools, and other groups and agencies that serve youth in Juneau.
AND
one (1) year of experience as a Librarian.
The preferred candidate will have recent MLS/MLIS coursework or experience in the use and organization of electronic information.
A valid Driver’s License required
at time of appointment and for continued employment.

have access to
reliable personal transportation
to transport self to all library branches.
